Monday 30 May 2016

ANU Cybercrime Observatory research assistants (Don Maxim, Katie Skinner and Stephanie Orlando), under the supervision of Professor Broadhurst, are currently working on a desk review for the Office of the Children's eSafety Commissioner. The aim of this desk review is to help identify effective counter-measures against online Child Exploitation Material (CEM) as well as to provide a current assessment of emerging issues within CEM and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

This project has been ongoing since December 2015. The team is working on identifying several emerging issues based on current trends in the CEM industry that relate to virtual reality devices and affiliated peripheral technologies, encrypted instant messaging and video applications, childhood development changes as well as emerging trends in user generated content.
