The Dangerous Consumptions Colloquium is a forum for the presentation and discussion of research on the myriad forms of contemporary consumption.
In past years presentations have explored alcohol, illicit drugs, gambling, sex, food, blood, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, public health, policy, celebrity magazines and pleasure from a social research perspective. Presentations on these or other forms of ‘dangerous consumption’ are welcome.
The colloquium is run over two days with only a single stream of papers (there are no concurrent sessions). This gives participants the opportunity to share ideas and understandings from research into a range of dangerous consumptions and from a range of theoretical perspectives.
The event will be held at ANU over two days and the ticket includes attendance and catering.
