Bryan has a Bachelor of Science degree and postgraduate qualifications in Computing, Information Technology and Design. They have completed a Master of Social Research (Social Science of the Internet) from the ANU and are currently a PhD student in the School of Sociology investigating the impact of social bots on public discourse.

Bryan is also a member of the Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks (VOSON Lab) situated within the ANU Research School of Social Sciences. They are actively involved in developing open-source software and tools to work with digital trace data.
