  • Biography

Isabel Mudford is a first year PhD student in the School of Sociology. Her thesis is examining the role of community health organisations in framing ideas of queer health and well being. Her research interests include the relationship between feminism and LGBTIQ activism, queer theory, and critical public health studies.

Isabel is also an active member of Canberra's queer community, having volunteered and worked for a number of LGBTIQ community organisations to pursue her passion for social justice and gender equity. She is currently a member of the ACT LGBTIQ Ministerial Advisory Council, on the board of A Gender Agenda, and a part-time Community Engagement Officer at the AIDS Action Council where she is working on queer women's health programs.
